Ca' Bianca Barbera d'Asti Superiore Chersi 2008 750ml

Ca' Bianca Barbera d'Asti Superiore Chersi

Chersi is bright and deep with a ruby red color, full and complex bouquet with enticing notes of sweet spices and with hints of ripe red fruits and violets; the flavor is soft but very savory, very full and elegant, with a pleasant, lingering aftertaste of Maraschino cherry.

In the Astigian’s dialect, “chersi” means grown or matured. This wine derives from a selection of the best barbera grapes grown in the vineyards of Cascina Polsino on the slopes surrounding Ca Bianca. The fruit is harvested by hand and carefully selected, then fermented on the skins with a medium-long, temperature-controlled maceration and frequent pumping over daily. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in new barriques of French oak for approximately 12 months. It is then aged further in the bottle before being released on the market.
