Roughly half thegrapes in this bottling came from six vineyards in Dry CreekValley, one-third from six vineyards in Alexander Valley, and the balance from two vineyards in the Russian RiverValley; included are grapes from recent plantings on ourLytton Springs and Geyserville vineyards. The winesfermented on their natural yeasts, were pressed at eightdays, and completed a natural (uninoculated) malolacticfermentation five weeks later. Aged in air-dried americanoak barrels (twenty percent new, the rest two to six yearsold), this full, well-balanced zinfandel is enjoyable now. Itsrich fruit will show to best advantage over the next four or so years.
