Ferrari-Carano Siena Sonoma County 2010
750ml
Description:

Ferrari-Carano’s Italian heritage is reflected in this Sangiovese-based, easy-sipping blend. Select lots of grapes are chosen from our vineyards in Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys to create a beautifully-balanced and medium-bodied wine. SIENA has delicious aromas and flavors of fresh-picked blackberries, raspberry jam, cola, cinnamon and clove. Sweet oak notes of vanilla and butterscotch complement lingering tart cherry, cranberry and strawberry. A wine with nice acidity and refined, elegant texture, SIENA has tannins that are showy and evenly coat the palate.

Notes on the Ferrari-Carano Siena Sonoma County 750ML 2010

Wine Maker Notes SIENA is a Sangiovese/Malbec red wine blend consisting primarily of Sangiovese. Grapes are hand harvested and upon entering the winery, hand sorted and then gravity fed directly into tanks for five days of cold soaking. The wine is fermented on the skins for about 10 days until pressing, then individual lots are moved to barrels where they complete malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is blended and aged in new Hungarian puncheons and older French oak barrels in wine caves until bottled.

Technical Notes Blend: Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Merlot Alcohol: 13.8% Barrel Aging: 14 months Bottle Aging: 6 months
