A full-bodied, very ripe rendering of Shiraz, Mitolo’s 2009 G.A.M. offers hints of raisined fruit to go with its notes of coffee, smoke, roasted meat and baking spices. The creamy midpalate and velvety finish make it drinkable already, although it should hold up well for another few years.

This rich red is redolent of tobacco, roasted game and spices around a core of dark cherry and berry flavors, playing against fine tannins. Best from 2014 through 2020. 400 cases imported. –HS

Notes on the Mitolo Shiraz G.A.M. 750ML 2009

Tasting Notes Aromatics of blackberries, plums, mocha, toasty vanilla oak and spice. The palate shows great depth of fruit character framed by fine grain tannins combined with a streak of naturally balanced acidity on the finish.

Technical Notes Shiraz from the Chinese Block of Lopresti Vineyard was fermented on skins for 10 days after which the wine matured for 18 months in fine grained oak hogsheads – 70% new and 30% neutral French and American oak.
