Schramsberg Vineyards Blanc de Blancs

Aromas of key lime, green apple and honeydew melon.Flavors of citrus, ripe Anjou pear, dried pineapple and it finishes with lingering and balanced acidity.

(100% Chardonnay). Small lots of malolactic and barrel fermented wines are blended and aged on thelees in bottle for two years prior to disgorgement.

Our Blanc de Blancs received world recognition in 1972 when it was served for the "Toast to Peace” inBeijing between President Nixon and Premier Chou En-lai. It has since been served by our Presidentsat home and abroad on countless occasions. The 1989 vintage won a Gold Medal at the Pacific RimWine Competition in Hong Kong and the 1994 vintage was awarded "Best of Show” by the QuarterlyReview of Wines. The 1998 vintage won silver medals at the Orange County Fair, the Grand HarvestAwards and the Orange county Wine Competition.

We received blanc de noir instead of blanc de blanc. It was not as good, but the people at Wine Chateau graciously offered to replace the bottle we had left if we wanted to return it, a great hassle that would have taken a couple of weeks. The wine was not that bad to have to endure the delay.
