On the one hand dense, deep and very well-extracted, yet on other both bright and balanced, this generously fruited offering is rife with wonderfully well-fit elements of juicy apples, citrus, sweet toast and cream in its rich aromas and follows with full-scaled flavors of real complexity and depth. A touch viscous but alive and in very fine balance from front to back, it continues to unfold at the finish with long flavors of fruit, minerals, spice and rich oak. There is far more wine here than first meets the nose and palate, and its remarkable impressions of layering tied to its perfectly focused Chardonnay fruit move this exceptional effort convincingly to the head of the class.
An excellent Chardonnay. It is my favorite and I am always looking for a good price and quick delivery.
Chalk Hill Chardonnay is one of the best Chardonnays I have tasted. Delivery from Wine Chateau was quick and uneventful. Pricing was very good. I tend to jump on free shiping whenever it is offered.
I have a case of 1996 Chalk Hill Chardonnay unopened. Can I still enjoy this wine, or do I need to dispose of it?
An excellent chardonnay. Others are good, but this onme is excellent. Wine Chateau's serevice is also excellent. They have never disappointed me
On a spring day in 1972, while piloting his plane over the Russian River, Chalk Hill’s founder, Fred Furth, caught his first view of a natural amphitheatre carved into the hills of eastern Sonoma. His intuition told him the land had the potential to support a world-class vineyard. A subsequent tour confirmed that the spectacular property indeed had the climate and soils to grow luxury-class wine grapes.
