The natural, lifted aromatics of Dolcetto combined with the tanninsand intensity of Lagrein create a savory, food-friendly red that offers notes of blackberries, wild herbs with smoked meats andspice. Earthy flavors mingle with sweet, red cherries and soft spices.
(51% Dolcetto /49% Lagrein). A blend of fruit from 12-15 year old vines planted in Langhorne Creek (93%) and the LimestoneCoast (7%), the Dolcetto was crushed and macerated for two days prior to a cool fermentation that included pump overs twicea day. Left on its skins for 10 days before pressing, the Dolcetto was aged in stainless steel to preserve the grape's naturalfreshness and fruity elements. The Lagrein was also fermented at cool temperatures and was transferred to new French (70%)and American oak (30%) for 12 months prior to blending.
