This wine is made from grapes grown in two great vineyards—our Estate vineyard in Sonoma Carneros and Nancy Reinke’s Napa Carneros vineyard. Both vineyards are planted with certified Alsatian clones and are farmed to Etude’s exacting standards, using ecologically sound viticultural practices. Vinification is elegantly simple. After gentle whole cluster pressing, the juice is transferred to small, 75-gallon stainless steel barrels for fermentation, and then allowed to mature undisturbed for five months before a very gentle bottling. The wine never touches a sliver of oak, nor does any portion undergo malolactic fermentation. Our mission is to produce a distinctive, highly enjoyable style of Pinot Gris that is classically aromatic, supple and dry.
