Aromas of poached pear and baked apples. Medium body, sweet fruit flavor notes, silky texture and mineral backbone from entry through the finish. With a brisk hit of acidity and cool-climate grapefruit and lemon flavors that just manage to break into richer apricots and papayas, this Chardonnay appeals for its complex interest. It's creamy and sweet in oak, yet finishes dry. Not an ager, but a nice Chardonnay for drinking now.
Aromas of fresh white pearmain apple, citrus, honeysuckle and a bit of toasty oak that adds complexity withoutdiminishing the upfront fruit. On the palate, a medium-body with fresh fruit flavors and notes of marmalade.
In the heart of Napa Valley's Stags Leap District sits a rocky peak with a spectacular Mediterranean-style stone winery perched on top. That winery is the iconic Silverado Vineyards, established in 1981 by Ron and Diane Disney Miller. Thirty years later, three generations of Miller Family continue to source grapes entirely from their family-owned estate Napa vineyards. From berry to bottle, each vine growing and wine making step is dedicated to expressing the character of grapes grown on each of the wineries six historic vineyards. Expressing richness and age-worthiness, Silverado wines are unique, one-of-a-kind blends of superlative vineyard location and elegant winemaking style.
Sourced from the Vineburg (55%), Firetree (34%) and Miller Ranch (11%) vineyards. The juice was barrel fermented inFrench oak barrels (80%) and in stainless steel barrels (20%) for depth and mouthfeel. The wine matured for over six months, during which the lees were stirred once a week in the stainless barrels and twice a week in the oak barrels (15% new) with 30%malolactic.
