Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages Red 2011 750ml

Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages Red

Strong red purple colour. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, liquorice and a touch of rose flower. The whole wine is very well balanced with a nice acidity and the tannins presence on the finish invites food pairing such as with Terrines, Charcuteries, Grilled red meat, white fish, cheese or simply as the sole wine of a meal.

This brilliant garnet wine is bright and fresh, with ripe, supple crushed strawberry flavors underscored by zesty nuances of peppercorns, gentle tannins and a clean acidity, finishing on a succulent, refreshing note.

Our Beaujolais Villages comes from two main sources : young wines from local growers with whom we have long time contracts blended with wine from the Regnié Cru. Among the 55.000 acres (22.000 hectares) of vineyards planted in the Beaujolais region , about 15.000 acres (6.000 hectares) are under the name Beaujolais Villages « Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée » which stands between the Beaujolais Appellation and the Crus appellation (there are 10 crus).

Is this a sweet wine?

This is a dry wine, it is one of my favorites. If you like Pinot Noir or Merlot you will like this wine.

This is a great everyday wine and, in that context, a terrific price/performer.
