98 Points James Suckling: This is fantastic. Intense and super long on the palate. It’s insanely complex yet subtle with so much going on, with a beautiful balance and tension. It is full and powerful with a big juicy character that goes on for minutes. Muscular yet covered with pretty fruit. Hard not to drink.
VERY disapointed. Wine Chateau falsely advertised this as being provided in "a case of 6." It was shipped in a cardboard box with no case. I then found the same wine and vintage for 13% lower pricing by the bottle on another site.
Wine Maker Notes Sassicaia means “the place of many stones,” and refers to the region’s gravel soil. The original vineyards have a southwest exposure with extensive sun and maritime breezes that create robust vegetation. The grapes were handpicked, destemmed and crushed before fermenting with natural yeasts for 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged in French oak barriques (one-third new) for 24 months, then refined for 6 months in bottle before release.
Technical Notes GRAPES: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc. APPELLATION: Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC
