Barkan Petite Sirah Classic 2011 750ml

Barkan Petite Sirah Classic

The grapes of this most "classic" of red varieties were grown in vineyards in the Galilee and Golan. Lively blackberry and smoke character firm, with a bright, clean feel.

An abundance of fruit aromas.

With an abundance of fruit aromas, the wine is produced from 100% Petite Syrah grapes from the vineyards of the Barkan Winery in the Judean Plains. The aromas which create a deep and full flavor, make this an exceptional wine.

Barkan was founded in 1990, by Yair Lerner and Shmuel Boxer. They immediately set forth on a program of modernization and the planting of vineyards, which they saw as the key to the production of fine wine and expansion of the company.

Barkan immediately began to plant vineyards in and around Barkan, where it would ultimately build a state of the art modern winery. Kibbutz Hulda was chosen given both its proximity to the vineyards of Hulda, as well as its central location, close to major roads and removed from urban areas. Today Barkan receives grapes from vineyards from all the best regions in Israel; such as the Golan Heights, the Upper Galilee and the Lebanese border area, the lower Galilee and Tavor, the Jerusalem mountains, and Israel's south, around Mitzpe Ramon.
