Tasting Notes Chianti Riserva possesses a brilliant, ruby color, violets and strawberries in the nose, and a dry, fruity, harmonious taste with a pleasant finish. It is vinified to be enjoyed young.
Wine Maker Notes Campbello Chianti Riserva undergoes temperature controlled fermentation followed by gentle pressing of select lots of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes. Aging the wine in large, Slavonian oak casks adds a pleasant touch of oak that is apparent in the aroma and the finish. In exceptional years, certain lots of Chianti are selected and set aside to become a riserva. These wines are fuller in body and receive additional aging, both in barrel and bottle. The resulting dry red wine is pleasant, vibrant and delicious, with soft tannins and bright fruit. It is approachable upon release but will continue to improve for three to five years.
Food Pairing Campobello Chianti pairs well with poultry, stews, pizza, burgers, and pasta with tomato and meat sauces. It is also great with chicken and veal parmigiana or marsala.
