Now home to more than 400 hectares under the Cognac appellation, Ile de Re is the appellation’s most northerly point and yet enjoys the mildest conditions.The nearby ocean is a fabulous temperature regulator, the spray is a source of flavor and the seaweed-rich soil is conducive to natural vine development. All these climactic elements combine to create a Cognac which has truly been sculpted by the ocean.
