Lively, delicately oaked, notes of dried fruits, a salty touch and smooth finish. Neat, chilled or over ice for a creamy texture or with a dash of still spring water.

Straw-colored with hints of gold. The nose exhibits fresh broom aromas and delicate iodine notes, with the palate dominated by dried fruit with hints of oak.

The congancs produced on the Ile de Re come form a small number of vineyards handed down through generations of Retais. Planted with single grape variety.Ugni blanc that produces a wine with two essential features for a good distillation a high acidity level and a low alcohol content.

The Ile de Re is widely, and justly, considered to be one of France’s most beautiful areas. Its extraordinarily mild climate and fertile soils have prompted humans to cultivate vines for many years. Now home to more than 400 hectares under the Cognac appellation, Ile de Re is the appellation’s most northerly point and yet enjoys the mildest conditions.The nearby ocean is a fabulous temperature regulator, the spray is a source of flavor and the seaweed-rich soil is conducive to natural vine development. All these climactic elements combine to create a Cognac which has truly been sculpted by the ocean.
