What I look for this wine is energy, freshness and aromatic expression. Our sauvignon from the mountains of Minervois and our selection massale of viognier are typically used. This year I thought it would be interesting to add another component: the Muscat d’Alexandrie. As its name says by itself, this grape resists to dry conditions and comes from Egypt. It used to be eaten more than used for winemaking. It brings a fantastic aromatic explosion and contribute to the Little James style. Its slight bitterness brings a lot of relief.The mountains are close to our plots. They make the frehness, very important for a white wine made for pleasure. This white marries well with many sorts of food like blue cheeses, asparagus or chicken with mushrooms.
