Wine Maker Notes
100% Serine (ancient syrah). Full clustersSchistesAged for 15 months in new oak (50%) and one-year old barrels (50%)Some terroirs of the northern part of the Côte Rôtie are extraordinary. Les Grandes Places, Cote-Rozier, La Viaillère are for example part of the terroirs I like most. The Côte Rôtie is one of the wines I prefer because I feel it is «part of the family».. Because I loved it from the beginning. Nothing is worse than a bad vintage in the Côte-Rôtie but nothing can match a great vintage in the Côte-Rôtie.When the great vintage 1991 arrived, it didn’t show as well as the 1990, which was riper and more powerful. Pretty much in the same way, the vintage 2010 looked less noisy than the 2009 at the beginning. But it enters in the category of the vintages which never stop to improve themselves. The real connaisseurs saw that immediately. Very well balanced, it is a typical example of my Côte-Rôtie grown on schistes. This is a vintage to follow carefully.Bottled without filtration.Cheminee soot, bacon, violet, graphite, cold ash, ancient roses.
