Tasting Notes Unaffected by boundaries and borders, we travelled to Argentina to find our Malbec. A pure expression of this reputable region, our Malbec delivers attractive spiciness and rich fruit intensity. On the nose, aromas of black cherry and blueberry are cradled by chocolate and smoked bacon. The rich gaminess and fat fruit flavors continue on the round, supple palate, and finish with a nice, lifted finale.
Wine Maker Notes When we decided we wanted to make a big, rugged Malbec, we knew we needed to travel to the source of its fame – Argentina. In the last couple of decades, Argentinean Malbec has built an international reputation. As the translator between vineyard and bottle, we stuck to the basics during winemaking. The fruit was destemmed and fermented in stainless steel with frequent pump-overs. We focused on the lovely fruitiness in the wine, framed by gentle oak spices, which we achieved by aging the wine for 15 months in new French oak barrels.
