This 2010 Zinfandel shows its Paso roots in its floral, rose petal nose, wrapped around a core of black cherry, blackberry, and classic Zinfandel white pepper. The flavors well-balanced, with wild cherry, red currant, and cranberry, matched with peppery, brambly notes. A nice array of spices lingers on the palate, from cinnamon bark to fruity ancho chile towards the finish. Medium-bodied with excellent freshness from this cool vintage, this smooth, balanced Zinfandel is a prime example of Paso Robles Zinfandel.

This Zinfandel comes from three different vineyards in Paso Robles, and is blended with a single-vineyard Petite Sirah for added color and texture. Picked ripe after a very cool growing season, the resulting balance and lower alcohol make for a great food pairing with chicken mole enchiladas, Mexican spice rubbed pork shoulder, or almost anything off of the barbeque, served with homemade baked beans.
