2010 was a challenging vintage in Napa Valley. An early start to the growing
season was followed by a very cool summer. Temperatures remained cool which led to steady
but delayed flavor development. To compensate forthe cool year, leaf pulling was
implemented across the fruit zone to increase sunlight to the berries. A week of high
temperatures and dry winds scorched many vineyards across Napa valley leaving exposed fruit
sun burnt. Several weeks of warm temperatures in September and October brought ideal
ripening temperatures. Despite the tough year,fruit in the vineyards showed good flavors and
balanced acidity all with lower sugars
