Pronounced aromas of spice with hints of Asian pear, kiwi and sweet citrus blossom segue into flavors of apple, pear and pie spice. Backed by fresh acidity, a core of minerality nicely emphasizes the lovely texture of this wine.
The parcel that was planted in 1986 to well draining Jory clay soils is located at 400 feet on a south-facing slope. In 1999, an additional parcel was planted on a steeper hillside to thinner, volcanic Nekia soils. The must was tank fermented, aged for eight months on its lees and lightly filtered before bottling.
