The wine has an intense honey-yellow hue and small persistent beads. Ripe aromas of honey, stone fruits and apple are echoed on the palate with additional layers of chamomile, minerals, yeasty notes and sweet herbs. The finish is crisp an and complex.
(100% Riesling). The base wine is a 1997 Riesling Spatlese from the Goldberg vineyard to which juice from the 1998 Riesling vintage was added to trigger the second fermentation. The wine was aged for 10 years on its lees, disgorged and in lieu of a normal dosage, the juice from the 2011 Riesling Spatlese was added.
