This wine is deep ruby red and recalls plums and red cherries on the nose, followed by balsamic and salty notes on a background of ripe licorice. With eloquent and clean tannins in the mouth, it comes across as full and vigorous, with a long and intense finish.
Malolactic fermentation and then aged in Slavonian Oak barrels for about 11 months.
A big winner in the marketplace! No price competition for this style of wine from other Montepulcianos. Ideal for on premise wine lists and "by the glass", and a distinctive bottle that also looks great on the shelf. A clear example of the potential that can be achieved with the Montepulciano D’Abruzzo grape. Good with roast meats and chicken, pasta with meat sauce. Often drunk with the regional "Vincisgrassi" pasta.
