Aromas of ripe mango and pineapple are followed by notes of warm banana bread and baked citrus. The creamy texture of this wine carries flavors of sweet peach, orange and roasted hazelnut through to the long and persistent finish.
Wine Maker Notes
We made California`s first Cremant in 1972. After rigorous study we chose the unusual California grape named Flora (a cross of Semillon and Gewurztraminer developed at U.C. Davis) to be the core component of this cuvee. This grape unites the fruit forward character of Gewurztraminer with the strength and depth of Semillon. We age the Cremant on the yeast for about three years, which adds complexity, yet allows it to retain its attractive youthfulness.
(70% Flora/25% Gewurztraminer/5% Pinot Noir). The Flora grape, which is a hybrid of Semillon and Gewurztraminer was blended with Gewurztraminer and Semillon and aged sur lie for about two years prior to disgorgement.
