Sterling Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 2010
BOTTLE SIZE: 750ml
The Sterling Napa Merlot celebrates this varietal with a vibrant, juicy core of red fruit; generous, youthful texture and a balanced spice profile. Following the deep purple hue, aromas of fresh cranberry and black cherry take the stage, complemented by cedar, spicy-floral and dried-herb notes. A great burst of flavor opens the palate, as deep red fruits interweave with cola across a smooth, weighted middle. Oak is the grounding force in the wine, holding it together and adding a toasty richness to the bright fruit profile. The finale is three parts, beginning with toasty clove and vanilla, followed by a burst of cherry compote and finishing with the lingering memory of wood spices.

Notes on the Sterling Vineyards Merlot Napa Valley 750ML 2010

Wine Maker Notes The grapes for our Merlot come from several vineyards throughout the Napa Valley. Combining the profiles of various sites, we created a comprehensive representation of this world-famous growing region. A majority of the fruit comes from the deeper soils of the valley floor, which translate to a broad mouthfeel and fleshy, juicy flavors. The cooler regions of Oak Knoll and Yountville give the bright cranberry and red raspberry character, while warmer Calistoga and Diamond Mountain fruit shows ripe, dark fruits. Together, these vineyards display the famous structure, depth and body of the Napa Valley.

Food Pairing Showcasing the season’s long hangtimes, the wine has a robust texture and complex structure that make it a perfect match for roasted meats, fall risottos or hearty pastas.
