I just returned from Italy where I had nero d'avola for every lunch and dinner. I am not a wine aficionado, but I do like a medium to full bodied wine with some strong fruit notes. This wine tastes of jam at first sip but opens up nicely. It has a certain lightness to it because of the fruit notes, but the wine itself seems more full-bodied. I bought a case and have been sharing with friends, who have been happy. It is a great deal on a very decent bottle of wine.
