Smokey, rich, and full on the nose with hints of orange, grapefruit, pear, and mineral scents. Full-flavored, yet crisp with fresh fruit flavors, such as citrus and white peach. It is lush and powerful with a bracing acidity, followed by a creamy, persistent finish.
Ten hectares of vineyards located throughout the As Neves area of Rias Baixas near Galicia in northwestern Spain are dedicated to the production of this wine. A combination of bush vines and the Pergola training system render a low planting density of 2500 vines/hectare. The soil is deep and fairly acidic with decomposed granite that allows for excellent drainage, a vital benefit for this area of excessive rainfall. Although not certified organic, Pazos de Lusco does all it can to respect the environment in its viticultural practices.
Enjoy with lobster, grilled seafood and cream-based pasta dishes. Also excellent with poultry.
