Deep red colour. Prominent aromatics of black cherry and boysenberry overshadow subtle notes of rose petal, bark, and a hint of fresh mint. Rich on the palate, fine oak and intriguing mushroom, soy and dried herb flavours provide complexity to the sweet dark fruited core of this wine. The finish is long and lithe.

(fermented with wild yeasts): Good bright medium red. Black cherry, spices, smoky oak and underbrush on the nose, plus a hint of strawberry liqueur. Supple, sweet and very ripe, but could use more shape and thrust to its red berry liqueur and earth flavors. Finishes with soft tannins and decent length. Not bad but could use more definition and lift. -- Stephen Tanzer
