The grapes for this Pinot Noir were grown inSonoma County’s Russian River Valley viticulturalappellation. The Russian River empties into thePacific Ocean and serves as a channel for the coolocean fog to move inland from the coast. Kenwoodproduces its Russian River blend from vineyardslocated off River Road, where the soil combinedwith the ocean’s cooling influence creates the idealconditions for growing Pinot Noir. Seventy percentof the grapes were grown on estate vineyards. Asmall amount of Syrah was added to the finalblend to supply additional body and complexity.
