Dense and tightly wrapped tannins surround a core of dark fruit, wood spice and berries. Noticeable here is the clear and pure transparency of fruit, which is just slightly framed by hints of leather and exotic spice.
This 26 acre vineyard is situated on a gentle north-facing slope composed of deep silt loam over silt and quartz. The grapes were 80% destemmed directly into open-top fermentors without pumping. Traditional fermentation with maceration followed. The wine aged for 13 months in French oak and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
