Domaine Ostertag Riesling Vignoble d'E 2010 750ml

Domaine Ostertag Riesling Vignoble d'E

This « village » wine is the pure expression of the Riesling berry. The result is a delicate Riesling driven by white flowers, white peach and vine blossoms aromas. The mouth is round and salivating, with a fine and long acidity, and a salty sensation in the finish. There is a real nobility in this graceful Riesling. It has a dimension close to the « Vins de Pierre » yet without reaching their fullness.

The « Vins de Fruit » are wines in which the primary expression of the variety is more important than the notion of « terroir », which is considered here to the scale of a village. The « E » stands for Epfig as this Riesling is the result of a blend of fifteen different plots located in and around the village of Epfig. The soils are mainly clay, gravels ans sands. The result is a fruit-driven wine with no « terroir » ambition. It is the reflection of the variety’sdry and fruity personality, yet with good depth and amazing minerality due to biodynamic viticulture.

Food pairing: shellfish, fish, white meat and cheese.Aging potential: 7 years
