The typical Abruzzo Cerasuolo is a wine made from Montepulciano grapes vinified as a white wine, with skins left in contact with the grape juice for a short period of time prior to pressing. The colour of Cerasuolo is a clear, bright cherry red or "ciresce" in the Abruzzese dialect. The taste is dry with good full fruit flavours and hints of almond.Zaccagnini produces wine from grapes that have no pesticide residues and the level of sulphur in the wine is less than the limits set by organic wines.
