The Zinfandel adds rich and deep aromas and notes of ripe dark fruit, the Syrah adds elements of sweet spice and Petit Sirah adds pretty aromatics.
Wine Maker Notes
Made in the Santa Barbara countryside, Sexual Chocolate is a true California wine, blending old vine Zinfandel from Napa’s Howell Mountain with warm climate Santa Barbra Syrah. The Zinfandel presents a rich, warm feel that could be confused with biting into a chocolate covered cherry, while the Syrah adds a smooth, deep and refined finish. Sexual Chocolate pairs well with late nights, friends, and a second bottle of Sexual Chocolate.
(60% Syrah, 30% Zinfandel, 10% Petit Sirah). The wine’s name was “borrowed” from Eddie Murphy’s movie ”Coming to America” – his character had a band called Sexual Chocolate. The label was featured in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s “How Wine Became Modern” exhibit. Produced in Santa Barbara, Sexual Chocolate is a blend of old vine Zinfandel sourced from Napa Valley with Syrah and Petit Sirah from northern California.
