Smooth and sleek on the palate, this balanced wine is loaded with character, presenting intense dark cherry and black plum, lovely cassis, earthy notes of crushed rock and a bracing minerality. Ripe, round tannins are nicely integrated, promising further complexity. The finely-knit flavors build toward a finish of great lift and length, with nothing out of place. Dense fruit leads the way, followed by cigar box spice, black currant, and graphite.
