The aromas and flavors are clean and youthful and the wine shows bright fruit and a mineral finish.
In vintages such as 2011, when young vines of the estate produce exceptional fruit, Bessin produces and bottles this wine instead of selling to negociants. The 12-44 year old vines were planted on a foundation of Portlandian bedrock and Kimmeridgian marl with shallow top soils. The whole bunches were crushed and fermented in temperature controlled tanks. Following malolactic, the wine matured for nine months in neutral oak barrels and tank.
