Bright golden yellow in color, the Five Rivers Chardonnay leads with classic varietal fruit aromas of apple, pear, ginger and lemon blossom, followed by subtle vanilla notes. In the glass, a bright acidity is broadened by lemon custard and honey flavors.
Wine Maker Notes
A blend of tank fermented Santa Barbara County fruit (approx. 50%) and barrel fermented fruit from the coolest region in Monterey County (approx. 50%) endow the blend with tropical and mineral/fl oral notes respectively. Aged sur lie for approximately 7 months prior to blending. Oak and malolactic influences are restrained and limited to a supporting rather than a leading role.
