A profound red with plenty of regional character and floral notes with heightened acidity that adds brightness. Polished and firm tannins carry the round and ripe red fruit flavors through to a balanced and elegant finish.
Wine Maker Notes
Grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for 18-22 days. The wine is aged in oak for 14–16 months, two thirds in French barriques and tonneaux (80% used) and one third in traditional casks.
(85% Prugnolo Gentile/15% Colorino, Canaiolo and Merlot). The grapes fermented and macerated for 18-22 days in steel vats with frequent pump overs. Two-thirds of the wine matured for 14-16 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux (80% neutral and 20% new) while the remaining third aged in casks.
