Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc 2012 750ml

Joseph Phelps Sauvignon Blanc

The Sauvignon Blanc opens with aromas of honeysuckle, Meyer lemon zest and notes of pear and jasmine, with underlying minerality that follows through perfectly to the palate. The wine is focused with flavors of lemon meringue, key lime and a hint of green pineapple leading to a balanced finish with beautiful acidity and a creamy texture.

A full-bodied, balanced Sauvignon Blanc, this wine shows fresh, fruity, slightly grassy aromas and multi-layered flavors of melon, fig and tropical fruit offset by a touch of oak, ending a clean, citrusy finish.

The grapes are harvested and pressed, with a minimum of 50 percent of the must fermented in new or older French oak barrels followed by three to five months lees contact. The remaining juice is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Between 20 and 30 percent of the wine is aged for approximately five months in oak barrels before being blended, lightly filtered and bottled.
