Arneis literally means "little rascal" as it is a hard grape to grow. For centuries it was mixed with Nebbiolo grape in Barolo region to soften its tannins. The reason why it's also known as the "white Barolo". Very floral and fresh with pear character. It is an excellent food match. The body and feel are very impressive for the money.
Marziano Abbona’s Arneis is sourced from their 2.5 hectare holding within the renowned ”Ochetti” cru on the Monteu Roero hill. Vines here average 20 years old and are planted at an elevation of 1475 feet with an exposure to teh southwest.
