Owners of the Bellevue distillery on Grand-Terre island in Le Moule, Guadeloupe, the Damoiseau family is the country’s leading producer of agricultural rum made from pure sugar cane juice distilled in a column still and aged in oak barrels.
The nose is elegant and fresh with hints of vanilla and spices. The palate is powerful, smooth and well-balanced with some notes of dried fruits and orange marmalade. Amber color. Aromas of sweet chocolate toffee, mocha buttercream, fig, rubber sap,and baking spices with a silky, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a gentle, warming oak and earth accented finish. A richly flavorful dark rum with a lot of complexity and style. Will make great artisan cocktails.
(84º) Spicy and complex, the VSOP is aged a minimum of four years in oak barrels.
