This Pinot Grigio begins with the fresh summer fruit of kiwi. It continues with golden apple, peach, and notes of lemon. It is both creamy and smooth on the palate with a crisp clean finish. A perfect match for fish or light red sauces.
Shaped liked a giant boot, Italy has vineyards located all the way from the Alps at the northern cuff to Sicily, the southern island off the tip of the toe. We harvested all the Pinot Grigio from Veneto, at the cuff, for spicy fruitiness in the wine, and added some Chardonnay from Sicily, at the toe, for richness. Veneto is part of the Tre Venezie Typical Geographical Indication, which is bordered by Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The warm air currents from the Adriatic Sea assure full ripening of the grapes, while the well-draining alluvial marl soils—composed of clay, limestone and rock—contribute character.
