Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2012 Woodcutter’s Shiraz has a slightly rubbery and reduced nose to begin then opens up to black cherry compote and blackberry preserves aromas accented by tar and licorice hints. Full-bodied with tons of savory, muscular fruit flavors, it has a medium level of rounded tannins and refreshing acid to carry through the long finish. Drink it now to 2018.

Fruit sourced from six parcels planted in northwestern Barossa Valley was fermented in cement, wood and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days. The must was basket pressed into neutral hogsheads and French oak foudres for 12 months, the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.
