This is the first sherry matured whisky from Kilchoman, and despite being a mere five years of age it's a very characterful dram from an Islay distillery that's producing some wonderful whisky.
Amongst the oldest casks at the distillery, it was malt peated to 50ppm and offers a rich briney and peaty nose with hints of apricot and honeyed ham. The palate follows suit with a velvety texture reminiscent of peach skin, salty toffee and honey that gives way to a long finish that features dried fruit, phenol and kelp.
(119.2°) This single cask from the 2006 vintage was aged in a refill sherry butt and bottled at cask strength. This offering is a Martin Scott exclusive.
