The 2009 Terrazas Single Vineyard Malbec Las Compuertas showed much better, but displayed the heat of the 2009 vintage. It is very dark-colored, almost opaque, with a brooding nose of ripe cassis, blueberries, black olives and subtle smoked notes. The palate is full-bodied, with round-tannins, good stuffing and structure to age with style. Drink 2015-2020.
Great product ! Terrific service !
Wine Maker Notes
The 2009 vintage was long and elegant. In spring, fruit setting developed excellently. So as to improve grape quality to the fullest, an extensive thinning of vines was applied. This cycle was characterized by mild temperatures which contributed to exceptionally fresh wines, with a distinct fruity profile and great personality and quality.
Full-bodied and rounded, this fairly pops in the mouth with the richness of black fruits such as currants, cherries and blueberries. A second nose boasts flowery notes recalling violets, mint and rosemary. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and blond tobacco are also present. While it offers a generous, juicy and fleshy palate, the balance it strikes between concentration and sophistication is a highlight. Deep and intensely purple in your glass, the finish is long, as is the pleasure.
