The wine offers notes of redcurrant, cherry, dark chocolate and earth on the nose and palate. A medium-bodied wine with savory notes, juicy acidity and round tannins on the finish.
In this popular blend Shiraz adds an attractive warmth and richness to the leanness of Sangiovese. Both the Sangiovese and Shiraz for this wine are sourced from Coriole’s estate vineyards.
Sangiovese and Shiraz was punched down followed by 8-10 days of fermentation with daily pump overs. The wine was aged in one and two year old French oak barrels and minimally filtered before bottling.
