The vineyards enjoy a pronounced maritime influence given their proximity to the sea. This, combined with the well-draining old ferricrete soils, provides the perfect backdrop for rich and focused wines of unsurpassed elegance. A strong emphasis is placed on viticulture - yields are managed by rigorous pruning and green harvesting while hydric stress is avoided by minimal irrigation. The grapes were hand-picked in small crates in late March/early April. The bunches were sorted before de-stemming, and the berries were resorted prior to crushing. Lengthy pump overs and extended maceration ensured gentle extraction of ripe polyphenols. Each varietal was were matured separately in 50% new French oak for six months before blended together and aged for an additional nine months.
A deep ruby edged with a youthful ruby rim, the presents enticing notes of oak spice and violets. On the palate are vivid flavors of redcurrant, and damson, framed by supple tannins, and carried by a fine thread of acidity. The finish is long, fresh and complex.
