Wine Maker Notes
In the prime red wine area of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch. Pronounced maritime influence due to proximity to False Bay ensures cooling breezes throughout the warm summer. Soils are medium potential, leading to favourably low vine vigour.
(48% Syrah/42% Cabernet Sauvignon/10% Petit Verdot). The varieties were matured separately for 6 months in French oak (50% new) before the lots were blended and aged for an additional nine months.
A deep ruby edged with a youthful ruby rim, the presents enticing notes of oak spice and violets. On the palate are vivid flavors of redcurrant, and damson, framed by supple tannins, and carried by a fine thread of acidity. The finish is long, fresh and complex.
