Deep ruby in color, this wine surpasses the acclaimed 2012 vintage in finesse, flavors and finish. The cool 2010 growing season gave us very low yields and intensely flavored grapes. Rich with ripe strawberries and tangy summer cherries, these flavors are nuanced with a range of fine baking spices. The bright acidity and restrained silky tannins add freshness, structure and balance. The wine
is both delicate and intense, an attribute of ethereal Pinot Noir.
Wine reviewers and Pinot lovers devoured our first Estate release, the richly flavored 2009 Masút Pinot Noir. The Wine Enthusiast selected our wine as one of the Top 100 Wines in the market last year. Of more than 16,000 wines tasted, Masút placed #50, right in the heart of a very prestigious international list. This affirmed the comments we were already hearing from you and our clients around the country. We are excited and inspired
At Masút we practice small block, hands-on farming.
In the cellar we use gentle winemaking, hand-sorting
and de-stemming whole berries into small fermenters. Following a 4-6 day cold soak, native and selected yeasts activated fermentation. This Pinot Noir aged 11 months in French oak barrels with extended lees contact. We bottled it unfined and unfiltered. Production is 8400 bottles.
