Wine Maker Notes
The majority of the grapes came from relatively high-altitude vineyards located in the Mendocino, Potter Valley and Red Hills American Viticultural Areas. These mountainous terrains have the benefit of warm continental days balanced by a sudden cooling as the sun sets. This allows the fruit to ripen fully while retaining its natural acidity and bright fruit flavors. The remainder of the grapes came from Paso Robles, where the long, mild growing season produces juicy cherry–berry flavors in the Merlot.
