Zinphomaniac Zinphomaniac Zinfandel Old Vine 2012
Harvested in the cool, early morning to preserve freshness and acidity, our Zinfandel grapes were brought quickly to the winery where they were crushed and placed into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Once dry, the wines were pressed off the grape skins and placed in small new and seasoned French oak barrels for a period of nine months, imparting subtle notes of brown spice and cedar to the finished wine.

Notes on the Zinphomaniac Zinfandel Old Vine 750ML 2012

Tasting Notes With tempting aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and spice, Zin-phomaniac is a complex, full-bodied wine with juicy, approachable flavors of ripe blue-purple fruit and dark semi-sweet chocolate. A kiss of vanilla and a touch of brown baking spice add depth to the long, satisfying mouthfeel.

Technical Notes The 2012 growing season in Lodi was as close to ideal as a grape grower or winemaker could hope for. Perfect weather conditions early in the year fostered a timely spring bud-break, steady flowering and even fruit set. The summer followed with a lengthy stretch of warm days and cool, foggy nights, allowing grapes to ripen slowly and steadily. Our Zinfandel grapes, sourced from several Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards in the Lodi region, were picked over a period of several weeks as each vineyard and block ripened to optimal maturity.
