Dark, almost black in colour, the nose reveals aromas of luscious black plum fruit, chocolate covered cherries, cloves, and dried herbs. On the palate, the fruit is accompanied by dark chocolate, spice, and mineral notes from our gravelly soils. The whole transitions seamlessly into a long, hedonistic finish.
A compelling wine that presents pronounced aromas of chocolate covered cherries, warm spice and dried herbs, with rich, silky tannins and long, seamless finish.
Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon were cold soaked, followed by a long, slow fermentation. The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak (40% new) and one year in the bottle.
