The Tresor is a strong effort in this frustratingly irregular vintage. It offers a dense ruby/purple color as well as a fresh, lively, black currant and black cherry-scented bouquet displaying a touch of incense and background oak. The wine hits the palate with an impressive display of rich, ripe, pure fruit, no hollowness or herbaceousness, well-integrated wood, and a medium to full-bodied, stylish, complex mouthfeel.
Vibrant aromas and flavors of red and black berries, black tea, cedar, earth, vanilla, blackberry and cassis, combine with a full mid-palate with considerable, round tannins. Lingering sweet oak notes and dark chocolate add great depth. This wine’s upfront silkiness and roundness make for a delicious selection now and will drink well for 15 - 20 years.
Our Tresor complements lamb, beef and duck dishes that are roasted or braised. Try Tresor with strong-flavored cheeses such as Gorgonzola and sharp Cheddar.
